It is the astronomical observation version of the ShortTube 80 achromatic refractor (the "-A" is for Astronomy).

The Short-Tube 80-A is a very compact, wide-field astro telescope that you can take with you to your favorite dark sky location with ease. The 80 mm objective lens, short 400 mm (f/5) focal length, and wide field of view make this scope ideal for viewing large deep-sky objects. These may include star clusters, nebulae, and even galaxies! You can also take detailed looks at the cratered surface of the Moon, Saturn's rings, and other solar system targets.

The ST80-A's doublet objective lens is multi-coated to give you excellent light transmission. It is housed in an all-aluminum 15" long tube that is equipped with a 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser on one end and an aluminum dew shield on the other end. This dew shield extends more than 3" out from the lens, preventing dew formation and blocking off-axis glare. This telescope comes with two 1.25" Sirius Plossl eyepieces - 25 mm and 10 mm - which produce 16x and 40x power (respectively), as well as a 90-degree mirror diagonal (1.25"). Both the eyepiece and diagonal barrels are threaded for optional Orion eyepiece filters. The large 8 x 40 finder scope will ensure that you can locate and center your target with ease.

The ShortTube 80-A also includes two felt-lined, hinged tube rings and a Vixen-style dovetail mounting plate, giving you the option to attach the telescope to the compatible mount of your choice.

The Orion ShortTube 80-A achromatic refractor telescope is back - a wonderful grab and go telescope to introduce your whole family to the wonders of the night sky!

Multi-coated optics give you maximum light throughput for bright views of deep-sky and solar system objects

Includes 90-degree mirror star diagonal, two Sirius Plossl eyepieces, tube rings, and a Vixen-style dovetail mounting bar

ShortTube 80 OTA

8x40 finder scope with bracket

Tube rings, pair

Dovetail bar

25mm Sirius Plossl eyepiece

10mm Sirius Plossl eyepiece

90-degree mirror star diagonal

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0785/6632/6421/files/orion-st80-a-refractor-astro-version-w-no-case_1.png?v=1793400093
