All of our apparel is inspired by this incredible place we call home, and we wanted to create a design that spoke to all Alaskans, and lovers of the north! Everyone in our communities plays a vital role in what makes AK so special, and that is highlighted by the Alaska state flag itself, which was designed by Benny Benson, a 13 year old orphan from Seward. Benny was a 7th grader who entered a design contest for 7th-12th graders from all over the territory (32 years before Alaska became a state in 1959). Benny described his design in this caption: \\\u0026quot;The blue field is for the Alaska sky and the forget-me-not, an Alaska Flower. The North Star is for the future state of Alaska, the most northerly of the union.
